The management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has issued a strong disclaimer concerning a viral notice alleging the introduction of a new dress code policy for students.
In an official statement released today, Friday, July 25, 2025, and signed by the Registrar, K.A. Bakare, the university clarified that it has not approved or implemented any such directive.
The statement emphasized that while the institution promotes decency and discipline among its students, any approved policies or guidelines would be formally announced through the university’s official platforms.
OAU urged students, parents, and the general public to disregard the misleading information, describing it as unauthorized and lacking credibility.
