The Abia State University (ABSU) branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has joined the two-week warning strike declared by the national leadership of the union.
Chairman of the union in the institution, Dr. Chidi Mbah, confirmed the development to PUNCH on Monday, saying the action has recorded total compliance among lecturers.
“We have fully complied with the warning strike,” he said.
Mbah also dismissed claims that the Congress of University Academics (CONUA) exists within the university.
“I don’t know about CONUA. There is no CONUA in ABSU,” he stated.
