Panic gripped residents of Ipele, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, on Wednesday night following a bomb explosion that razed the Owo Police Station located opposite the Comprehensive Health Centre (CHC), Ipele.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that the police station was bombed and burnt to ashes, causing fear and tension in the area. As of the time of filing this report, security operatives have instructed all staff and occupants within the vicinity to vacate the premises for safety reasons.
It was gathered that staff of the Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (OSPHCDA) working at the nearby CHC escaped unharmed.
The cause of the explosion and the perpetrators remain unknown at the moment. There is no confirmed report of casualties.
