The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, today hosted the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Nigeria, Mehmet Poroy, at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
The meeting focused on the welfare of Nigerian students in Türkiye, efforts to curb irregular migration, and plans to strengthen bilateral cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Hon. Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa said the proposed agreement would enhance cultural and economic relations between Nigeria and Türkiye, improve support and protection for Nigerian students and members of the diaspora, promote safe and legal migration pathways, and open up opportunities in trade, investment, education and cultural exchange.
