SOWORE BLASTS AIYEDATIWA OVER WORSENING INSECURITY IN ONDO STATE

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has criticised the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, over his handling of the state’s security situation.

In a post shared on his verified Facebook account, Sowore accused the governor of failing to demonstrate leadership at a time when residents need him most, particularly in Akure North Local Government Area, which has been grappling with rising cases of killings and kidnappings.

He alleged that the governor was in Lagos attending a social function while insecurity persisted in Ondo State, describing the situation as unacceptable and leadership failure.

The activist also faulted the governor’s priorities, claiming that Aiyedatiwa had been away from the state for social engagements “Owambe” parties, despite the worsening security situation in Ondo State.

Sowore’s comments have since sparked reactions, with stakeholders calling on the Ondo State Government to strengthen security measures and ensure the protection of lives and property across affected communities.
