APC GOVERNORS IN CLOSED-DOOR MEETING WITH TINUBU AT STATE HOUSE

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday held a meeting with governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the State House, Abuja, hours after an emergency engagement with Senate leadership.

The meeting, earlier fixed for 4pm at the Council Chamber, was shifted and eventually began around 5pm at the conference room of the President’s office.

Among governors present were Babagana Zulum (Borno), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Inuwa Yahaya (Gombe), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Peter Mbah (Enugu), and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), alongside others, while some states were represented by their deputies.

As of press time, the agenda of the meeting had not been disclosed.

The engagement came shortly after President Tinubu’s closed-door meeting with Senate leaders on Wednesday, described as an emergency session.

Speaking after the meeting, Senate Majority Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, said far-reaching resolutions were taken on issues of urgent national concern following an earlier closed-door executive session of the Senate.
