The All Progressives Congress has announced its timetable and schedule of activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, outlining key dates for its primary elections and nomination processes.
In a document signed by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, the ruling party detailed timelines for the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms, screening of aspirants, primaries, and appeals.
According to the schedule, the sale of forms will begin on April 25 and end on May 4, 2026. The presidential primary is slated for May 15 and 16, while primaries for the House of Representatives, Senate, State Houses of Assembly, and governorship positions will follow between May 18 and May 23.
The timetable also provides for appeals immediately after each primary. Presidential appeals are fixed for May 18, while those for other categories will hold between May 20 and May 25.
The party further disclosed the cost of forms for aspirants. Presidential hopefuls are to pay N30 million for the expression of interest form and N70 million for the nomination form. Governorship aspirants will pay N10 million and N40 million respectively.
For National Assembly positions, Senate aspirants are expected to pay N3 million for the expression of interest form and N17 million for the nomination form, while House of Representatives aspirants will pay N1 million and N9 million respectively. State Assembly aspirants are to pay N1 million for expression of interest and N15 million for nomination forms.
The APC said it has approved concessions for female aspirants, youths, and persons with disabilities, granting them a 50 per cent discount on nomination forms after purchasing the expression of interest form.
It added that the outlined process is aimed at ensuring credible and transparent primaries, in line with its commitment to strengthening internal democracy.
