DANGOTE REFINERY REDUCES FUEL PRICE TO ₦1,650 PER LITRE

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has announced a reduction in the price of aviation fuel (Jet A1), bringing it down to ₦1,650 per litre from the previous ₦1,750 per litre.

According to a statement issued by its media team on Tuesday, the price adjustment is aimed at easing cost pressures on airline operators and ensuring a steady and uninterrupted supply of aviation fuel across the country.

The refinery also disclosed that the initiative includes a 30-day interest-free credit facility for marketers and airlines, backed by bank guarantees, as well as a transition from dollar-denominated pricing to a naira-based structure.

The development comes amid concerns over rising operational expenses in the aviation sector, where fuel costs constitute a significant burden for domestic carriers. Industry stakeholders have consistently warned that surging Jet A1 prices were placing pressure on airline operations and overall sustainability.

The statement added that the measures are expected to provide relief to operators by reducing procurement costs, enhancing operational stability, and supporting efforts to moderate airfares.
