SOWORE CONDEMNS USE OF BAIL TO ‘CAGE’ EL-RUFAI

Nigerian foremost human rights activist, Mr. Omoyele Sowore, has condemned what he described as “lawfare” against former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, insisting that the rule of law must prevail.

Sowore, in a post via his verified X handle, stated that he would never support the use of legal processes as a tool of intimidation against El-Rufai.

He urged the courts to uphold justice by granting the former governor bail and ensuring he receives a fair trial, stressing that bail remains a constitutional right.

According to him, using bail as a means to detain or “cage” citizens is unjust, unlawful, and unacceptable.

Sowore added that such practices should be rejected by all Nigerians, regardless of the individuals involved.
