IGP ORDERS MAJOR REDEPLOYMENT OF AIGs, CPs ACROSS POLICE FORMATIONS

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved a sweeping redeployment of senior officers in what the Force described as part of efforts to strengthen operational efficiency and improve service delivery nationwide.

A statement issued on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Placid, said the exercise affects Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs) across strategic departments, zones, and commands.

According to the statement, the reorganisation is aimed at reinforcing leadership structures and aligning personnel with operational priorities within the Nigeria Police Force.

Among the affected AIGs, Ado Emmanuel has been posted to the Research and Planning Department at Force Headquarters, Abuja, while Joseph Eribo will oversee the Department of Armament. Miller Dantawaye was assigned to Operations, and Henry Ifeanyi Uche to Training and Development.

Others include Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo, who moves to the Police Affairs Branch, and Dahiru Mohammed, deployed to Zone 15, Maiduguri. Dankombo F. Morris is to serve in Zone 4, Makurdi, while Bello Shehu takes charge of Zone 14, Katsina.

In the same category, Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba was posted to Legal Services, Ahmed Musa to Community Policing, Olohundare Moshood Jimoh to Zone 2, Lagos, and Simeon U. Akpanudom to the FCID Annex in Lagos. Haruna Olufemi was assigned to the Special Protection Unit at Force Headquarters.

At the level of Commissioners of Police, Haruna Alaba Yahaya has been deployed to Jigawa State Command, Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola to Oyo, and Olubode Ojajuni to Ogun State. Michael Adegoroye Falade moves to Ekiti, while Yakubu Useni Dankaro takes over Adamawa State Command.

Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed will head the Federal Capital Territory Command, as Olatunji Olaiwola Fatai assumes duty in Lagos State. Other postings include Morkwap S. Dongshal to Taraba, Ahmed Mohammed Bello to Zamfara, Umar Ali Fagge to Katsina, and Hayatu Shaffa Hassan to Sokoto State Command.

Additional appointments place Akan Ezima as Director of the NPF-NCCC in Abuja, Abbas Sule in the Special Protection Unit, and Ajo Geoffrey Ordue at INTERPOL in the Federal Capital Territory. Mnwadiogbu Cletus has been named Deputy Commandant of the Police Academy, while Danjuma I. Yahaya and Sheik M. Danko will serve at FCID Annex offices in Kaduna and Lagos respectively. Moses Ashu Otta was assigned to SWAT in Abuja.

Other postings include Abdulrahim A. Shuaibu to the Eastern Ports Authority, Sarah Ehindero to Administration at FCID Abuja, and Edwin Ogbegbghagha as Provost at Force Headquarters. Preye R. Egbe was deployed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Abuja, while Adebisi Bola Lateef moves to Master Printing, Lagos.

Bolou O. Etete was assigned to Community Policing (Research and Planning), Ojugbele E. Adebola to General Investigation at FCID Alagbon, Lagos, and Fidelis N. Ogarabe to INTERPOL Annex, Lagos. Theodore C. Obasi was named Deputy Commandant of the Police College, Ikeja.

Others affected include Eloho E. Okpoziakpo (Special Fraud Unit, Ikoyi), Kayode Uthman Magaji (K9, Dei-Dei), Markus Ishaku Basiran (POLAC), Mohammed Babakura (Administration, Operations Department), Silas Bamidele Aremu (Safer Highway), Magaji Ismaila (Community Safety and Crime Prevention), and Rebecca Uchenna Okereke (Director of Music, Force Headquarters).

The police leadership urged the redeployed officers to bring their experience to bear in their new assignments while maintaining professionalism and discipline in the discharge of their duties.
