SAHARA REPORTERS’ ALLEGATIONS AGAINST TUNJI-OJO FALSE, MISLEADING – ATIKASE

The Ondo State representative on the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Otito Atikase, has dismissed as false a report alleging the involvement of the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in project diversion and employment racketeering within the commission.

Atikase, in a statement via his verified Facebook account, described the publication by Sahara Reporters as unfounded and lacking any basis in fact, insisting that no such incident had occurred at any point.

He stressed that the Minister of Interior has no operational or administrative link with the affairs of the NDDC, adding that attempts to associate him with the allegations were misleading and unjustifiable.

According to him, the structure and mandate of the NDDC are clearly defined and operate independently under established oversight frameworks, none of which involve the Office of the Minister of Interior.

The NDDC board member also dismissed claims of project diversion to Akoko and alleged employment bias against Ese-Odo Local Government, saying there is no evidence, record, or directive to support such assertions.

He further stated that the individuals mentioned in the report do not exist in any official or verifiable capacity, noting that this further weakens the credibility of the publication.

Atikase condemned the report as a campaign of calumny aimed at misleading the public and undermining the ongoing efforts to reposition the commission after years of mismanagement.

He urged members of the public to disregard the allegations in their entirety and rely only on verified and credible sources of information.
