EID-EL-ADHA: AIYEDATIWA CALLS FOR PEACE, RELIGIOUS HARMONY IN ONDO

Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has felicitated Muslim faithful in the state and across the country on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Adha celebration, urging them to uphold the virtues of sacrifice, tolerance, love and peaceful coexistence.

In his Eid-el-Adha message, the governor described the celebration as a reminder of the unwavering faith, obedience and total submission of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to the will of Allah.

Aiyedatiwa said the festival symbolises the values of charity, unity and compassion, stressing the need for residents to continue to live together in harmony irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace, unity and religious harmony in Ondo State, while calling on Muslims to use the period to pray for the peace, progress and development of the state and the country at large.

He also urged well-meaning individuals to extend support to the less privileged during the celebration.

The governor advised residents to celebrate in moderation, observe safety measures and maintain the peaceful culture for which Ondo State is known.

He prayed that Almighty Allah would accept the prayers, sacrifices and good deeds of the faithful and bless them with good health, prosperity and abundant blessings.
