The Kaduna State High Court has adjourned the hearing of the bail application filed by former Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, to the first week of June 2026.
Trial judge, Justice Darius Khobo, fixed the new date after taking arguments on the application.
El-Rufai, who was arraigned last week on an amended nine-count charge bordering on alleged fraud and abuse of office by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), had appeared before the court last Tuesday to press for bail.
Justice Khobo, however, deferred ruling on the application till June.
Meanwhile, the former governor had earlier been granted bail by a Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna in a separate corruption charge also instituted by the ICPC.

In that ruling, Justice Rilwanu Aikawa admitted him to bail in the sum of N200 million and directed that he remain in ICPC custody pending the fulfilment of the bail conditions.
Part of the conditions bars the defendant from making public comments on the matter, while he is also required to attend all court proceedings.
Reacting, counsel to the defendant, Ukpon Akpan, faulted the adjournment, alleging that it was politically motivated.
