NAF HITS TERRORIST CAMPS IN SAMBISA, DESTROYS KEY FACILITIES

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its offensive against insurgents, striking terrorist enclaves in the Sambisa Forest and recording significant casualties.

Air operations conducted under Operation HADIN KAI targeted locations around the Yuwe axis, where intelligence reports had indicated the presence of armed fighters occupying fortified positions.

In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the mission was executed following credible surveillance that confirmed the movement and concentration of terrorists within the area.

According to him, fighter aircraft deployed precision-guided munitions on identified targets, leading to the destruction of key infrastructure and the neutralisation of several insurgents. He added that logistics hubs used by the group were also taken out during the strikes.

Ejodame noted that sustained aerial assaults have continued to weaken terrorist networks in the North-East, forcing them into disarray and limiting their operational capacity.

He further quoted the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, as reiterating the force’s commitment to sustained, intelligence-led operations aimed at flushing out remaining insurgents.

The air chief, he said, assured Nigerians of the military’s determination to safeguard lives and property while maintaining strict compliance with operational guidelines to avoid civilian casualties.
