NEW DAWN IN ODE-IRELE AS OBA ODIMAYO RECEIVES STAFF OF OFFICE

Ode-Irele witnessed a historic moment on Saturday as His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Omopariola Odimayo, was formally presented with the Staff of Office and Certificate of Recognition as the Olofun of Ode-Irele.

The presentation was carried out by the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa, at a colourful ceremony which attracted traditional rulers, government officials and jubilant indigenes of the ancient town.

The event marked the completion of statutory and traditional processes confirming the monarch’s ascension to the throne, with rich cultural displays and festivities dominating the atmosphere.

In his remarks, Governor Ayedatiwa described the occasion as a significant milestone in the history of Ode-Irele, urging the new monarch to uphold peace, promote unity and support the development agenda of the state government. He noted that the Staff of Office symbolises authority, responsibility and public trust.

Responding, His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Omopariola Odimayo, expressed gratitude to the state government, kingmakers and the people of Ode-Irele, pledging a reign anchored on peace, cultural preservation and community development.

The ceremony featured prayers, traditional performances and cultural displays, as residents expressed optimism that the new reign would usher in unity, progress and sustained development.
