
The College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, has inducted its 2025 graduating class of Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) into the medical profession.
The ceremony marked the formal transition of the graduates from academic training to professional practice.
Speaking at the event, the Provost, Prof. Temidayo Ogundiran, charged the new doctors to strive for excellence and make meaningful contributions to society, stressing that the knowledge they had acquired should be used to serve humanity.
Also speaking, the Registrar of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, Dr. Fatima Kyari, represented by Dr. N. O. Abul, urged the inductees to uphold ethics, integrity and honesty in their practice, noting that medicine remains a service-driven profession.

In his remarks, the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, congratulated the graduates, describing their induction as the beginning of a lifelong professional journey.
He further urged them to represent the institution with pride, remain committed to saving lives, and embrace continuous learning in line with the core values of the University of Ibadan and the University College Hospital.

Otegbayo also lauded parents, guardians and lecturers for their roles and sacrifices, noting that their support was instrumental to the success of the newly inducted doctors.
