FRONTLINE HEALTH WORKERS TO GET CLINICAL AND DIGITAL HEALTH TRAINING — FG

The Federal Government has commenced the training of more than 70,000 frontline health workers as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare system, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, has disclosed.

Speaking on the initiative, Prof. Pate said the programme is designed to improve service delivery nationwide, enhance emergency response capabilities, and equip health workers with the skills necessary to manage disease outbreaks and critical health challenges.

“The training is a key component of the administration’s broader agenda to rebuild the health sector, expand access to quality care, and improve health outcomes for Nigerians,” he said.

According to the Minister, the training targets health workers across primary, secondary, and tertiary facilities, focusing on upgrading clinical skills, strengthening digital health capacity, and improving community-level healthcare delivery. He added that the programme is expected to boost Nigeria’s preparedness for public health emergencies and strengthen the nation’s overall healthcare infrastructure.

Prof. Pate also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to investing in the health workforce, describing it as essential to achieving universal health coverage and sustaining long-term national development.
