Nigeria has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EMS Brazil and Oaks Medical Limited to strengthen local pharmaceutical manufacturing and industrial cooperation. The signing ceremony, hosted by the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and presided over by the Coordinating Minister, underscores the government’s commitment to turning diplomatic agreements into actionable initiatives.
The MoU follows discussions between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva during the Nigerian leader’s recent visit to Brazil. Both presidents highlighted the importance of collaboration in pharmaceutical development, vaccine production, and broader industrial growth.
The agreement is expected to enhance Nigeria’s capacity to locally produce essential medicines and vaccines, reduce dependence on imports, and bolster the country’s healthcare security.

The partnership marks a significant step in Nigeria’s drive to strengthen its healthcare sector and promote industrial self-reliance.
