The Wife of Ondo State Governor, Mrs. Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, has called on women and girls to speak out against all forms of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), with particular focus on the rising threat of digital abuse.
The call was made during the 2025 edition of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence in Ondo State, themed “Unite to End Digital Violence Against Women and Girls.”
During a sensitization visit to the Deji’s Palace, Mrs. Aiyedatiwa urged victims to overcome stigma and cultural discouragement to seek justice. She said, “Many are going through a lot but refuse to speak out because of stigmatisation. That is why we are sensitising our women and girls to always speak out to get justice.”
Mrs. Bosede Adelami, Wife of the Deputy Governor, supported the campaign, stressing that speaking out is vital to ending internet-related violence and appealed for traditional rulers’ support.

Responding, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Deji of Akure, condemned GBV and pledged full support, saying, “We will do everything possible to stop it by force.”
The initiative aims to amplify the voices of survivors and encourage victims of digital abuse to seek justice.
