ONDO NEW POLICE COMMISSIONER ASSUMES DUTY

The Ondo State Police Command has announced the assumption of duty of Felix Ohagwu as the 47th Commissioner of Police in the state.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh.

According to the statement, Ohagwu takes over from Adebowale Lawal, following his deployment by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, in a move aimed at strengthening internal security and improving policing operations nationwide.

The Command described the new police chief as a seasoned officer with vast operational experience, noting that he has served in several investigative, operational and administrative roles across the country over a career spanning more than three decades.

On assumption of office, CP Ohagwu pledged to strengthen the existing security framework in the state, with a firm commitment to the protection of lives and property.

He said his administration would focus on proactive policing, intelligence-led operations, community engagement, and inter-agency collaboration to curb crime across Ondo State.

“The Command under my leadership will remain committed to transparency, accountability, professionalism, respect for human rights and a corruption-free policing system,” he stated.

Ohagwu also assured residents of improved service delivery, stressing that officers of the Command would uphold integrity and ethical standards in line with global policing best practices.

He expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for the confidence reposed in him, while commending his predecessor, Adebowale Lawal, for his contributions to security in the state.
