President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians of his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity following the rescue of abducted victims in Kwara and Niger states.
In a statement via his verified Facebook handle on Sunday, the President recalled that he cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to personally coordinate security operations in the country.
According to him, security agencies have successfully rescued all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State, after days of intensified operations. He added that 51 of the missing students from a Catholic school in Niger State have also been recovered.
Tinubu noted that he is “closely monitoring the security situation nationwide,” receiving constant updates from security operatives on the frontlines.
He reiterated his commitment to safeguarding citizens, stressing that every Nigerian has a right to safety.
“Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people,” the President said.

Tinubu concluded by reaffirming his position as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, pledging continued efforts to restore peace across the country.
